IN

THEIR SHOES

I love working with people, learning about different cultures and I think it is important to broaden your horizon. One of my favorite projects was called „In de schoenen van een ander”. Which literally means „in someone elses shoes”.

For this project I hid my long, blond, straight hair and dressed differently. All this, because I wanted to experience what it is like for a Muslim girl to walk around in the Netherlands. This experience was so pure and strange at the same time. Experiencing what these girls go through in their daily life made me want to confront all the people who had prejudices about other people, in particular Muslims.
